You may have seen in the ads a new game called [Prototype]. You know the one with the guy on the front with his arm looking like some kind of sword? Let me tell you right away my fellow nerds that it is a definite buy, and should be added to your collection right away.

Gamespot gave it an 8.5 for the PC (my favorite gaming system) and for the 360 and PS3. I would say it is definitely a 9.0 or higher, but their score is pretty unbiased.

Basically, you are a man named Alex Mercer, who wakes up in a Morgue and escapes, finding as he is infected with a virus called blacklight that gives him inhuman speed, strength, and incredible health. You are immediately pitted against forces called Blackwatch, who stop at nothing to kill you with a typical military arsenal of guns, armored vehicles, and explosives. You can pick up cars and throw them. You can jump hundreds of feet in the air and glide down. You can run up the side of a wall and climb all the way to the top. You can fall from hundreds of feet and land harmlessly while shattering the ground around you to pieces. Your, in my opinion, way cooler than superman.

Its kind of like grand theft auto in a sense, where you must avoid the authorities and explore the city looking for missions. Instead of being able to steal the cars, you can pick them up and throw them. You can start a huge panic, and escape to go somewhere else and do it again. Sometimes if you cause to much trouble, military helicopters come in, so you must destroy them or escape.

The cooolest part i how you gain health. Instead of having conventional health where you collect capsules, or recharge like master chief or nomad, you must kill people and consume them. You can grab people and then kill them, afterwhich tentacles come out of you and wrap around the victim, sucking them into you for health. You can also transform into them and be diguised as them to escape easier.

Also, you can change your arms into swords, claws, hammers, whips, and a whole crap-load of weapons.

And yes, it did bring out my inner nerd after a long boring summer with little time at home. ~edward-bella-vampire probably doesn't care, but oh well. CHECK IT OUT!
